Apple Watch Series 4 GPS with iPhone outside bluetooth range

Is it possible to do the following when the iPhone is out of bluetooth range but on the same WiFi:

  • Use Siri
  • Send/receive text messages
  • Do/receive calls
  • Stream music

I have read about people being able to do/receive calls and send/receive text messages even when the phone is shut off. I just want to confirm that this is possible.

Note, I am talking about the GPS version, not the LTE one.

Apple support document https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205547 describes what is available when your iPhone is not available.

Yes, you just need to ignore the cellular sections, or at least assume the cellular network is not available. That means you should focus on the WiFi and no WiFi no cellular blocks. Remember the watch doesn’t have a keyboard to enter WiFi authentication, so to use WiFi your watch must have “seen” your iPhone connect to the target WiFi at least once. You can’t go somewhere totally new and expect WiFi to work.
