Magic Device Switching on Two MacBook Pros

If I leave the Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 plugged into a USB-C hub all of the time, will I be able to switch these devices between two MacBook Pros by just switching which MacBook Pro the USB-C hub is plugged into?

I want to setup a workstation to switch between my work and personal MacBook Pros. I know I can accomplish this with other non-Apple devices, but I prefer to keep my fingers trained to the same keyboard design as the MacBook Pro for when I need to use it away from my workstation and I haven't found a good alternative to Apple's Trackpad.

I'd prefer to figure this out before investing $200+ into the keyboard/trackpad combo.
