MacBook Air & Lightroom

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on if anybody has experience of running Lightroom on the MacBook Air and if they recommend it? My friend is selling a 2014 13" MacBook Air, 4GB, 128SSD at a very reasonable price and I'm considering buying it as a spare travel computer for my wife due to it's light weight, so she can leave her current, more powerful, Dell laptop at home, however, I have no experience with Apple desktops/laptops, and was looking for any information to find out if it would be worth it. I've read online that people recommend getting the 8GB Ram and 256SSD or higher but due to the price my friend is selling the 4GB one for, I was wondering if it would be worth it. The MacBook would only be used for Lightroom and general browsing/research while traveling, nothing much else would be run or installed on it and due to this I was wondering what kind of performance she could expect from Lightroom and the MacBook in general? Thanks.

I used a 2011 MBA with Lightroom for years and had a much faster desktop as well. While using Adobe CS on my MBA I seldom was irked by its lack of speed - it was the small display and Adobe's profligate use of pallets that bugged me. At the time I'd have killed for a 15" version of the MBA...but probably would have stuck with the 13" because it was such a joy to travel with.

I eventually purchased a much faster MBP but when I did I didn't feel an overwhelming sense of relief at how much faster it was than the MBA. But I really did appreciate the larger drive. And that's the one thing I note about the MBA you are talking about. The small drive may quickly become a problem though it can be upgraded (check out macsales.com).
