Mid 2007 iMac El Capitan 10.11.6 upgrade to Sierra?

Hi forum members,

I currently own a mid 2007 iMac running El Capitan 10.11.6 2.4 GHz with 6GB RAM.

My rig was running happily a few weeks ago until my Dashlane app was acting up. Well, it turns after contacting Dashlane the desktop app no longer supports El Capitan and I must upgrade to Sierra.

App store no longer carries Sierra but an Apple hyperlink show it here:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208202

But lo and behold, it only applies to Apple iMacs 2009 or newer.

So now I am stuck. I am wondering if a recent post in this forum re: diskMaker X will be the solution to my MacOS upgrade path?

Lastly, if I were to successfully upgrade to Sierra, is the upgrade path to Mojave good as long as the RAM and CPU is able to support it?

Thanks!

You're running the final version of OS X for an iMac mid 2007.

The available upgrade path is a new Mac, or a replacement used Mac and preferably one with Metal graphics capabilities.

I'm unable to locate the referenced recent DiskMaker X discussion, so I don't know what that referenced.
