iPad keeps temporarily dropping WiFi.

My iPad Air 2 is WiFi+cellular, but I use the iPad only at home, and only with WiFi, so I keep the “Cellular Data” toggled to “Off”. Been working fine this way ever since I got it.

However, over the last few weeks, Safari has been slow, and when a page is taking too long to load, I get a pop-up stating “Cellular Data Is Turned Off - Turn on cellular data or use WiFi to access data,” as if the WiFi signal is being dropped. When this happens, I notice my WiFi signal cone icon has disappeared, again, as if WiFi has been lost. But as soon as I dismiss the pop-up, the WiFi signal comes back just fine. This happens several times throughout the day.

I have updated to iOS 12.1.1; I have reset my iPad network settings; and I have power-cycled my modem/router. So, I am at a loss as to why this keeps happening. All other internet devices in the house seem to be OK, though admittedly, none of them get as much use as the iPad.

I’m hoping that others have dealt with similar issues before. Before I get on a long drawn-out telephone call with my internet provider, is there anything else that might explain, or better yet, solve the problem on my end?

Please and thank you!
