I recently purchased the new MacBook Air and I was trying to download youtube and Netflix. they didn't show up on the App Store when I searched for them so I shared the apps from my iPhone. it come up with unavailable and saying that the app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices. I have signed out and then back into my App Store and still nothing. same is happening for youtube and facebook

The reason you're not finding the apps in the Mac App Store is because there aren't any designed for a Mac. You don't need an app, except for your web browser (for example, Safari). Just go to the YouTube or Netflix website when you want to watch videos, movies, and TV shows:
