My phone is using data every 3 hours even when phone is not being used. What’s going on?

Data usage something on my phone is using all my data even though it is connected to WiFi, WiFi assist is off and background refresh. It even happens through the night when I’m sleeping. And today I decided to turn my mobile data off and yet it is still using my data. How?

My Iphone is using small amounts of data while I am on wi-fi Since the pandemic hit, I work solely from home in a wi-fi environment. I have checked my cellular bill and noticed that there are small amounts of data being used even though I have not left the house. Can someone help to understand if this is normal or if I have a security issue.

You iPhone do check for e-mail, and many other thing.
