Syncing My IPod to my new Laptop

I have an IPod classic, S/N 8K0064UK9ZU, Model #MC297LL, Version 2.0.4 PC, that I have 10.5K songs on, I have a new laptop and want to sync it with my iPod , buy am scared to do this because I’ve heard horror stories of people losing their entire music library. Please help, what can I do to “store” my liabrary, If I loose it, I’ll be devistrated!

iPod classic syncing with new iMac I have a iPod classic filled with my music that I synced with my old iMac. Will I lose my music that's on my iPod classic if I sync it with my new iMac on iTunes. I down loaded most of my music in iTunes on my new iMac. I just wanted to know that I can sync my iPod classic and get all my new and old songs on my iPod classic. I just didn't want to lose all my music on my iPod classic if I tried syncing it with my new iMac. Can you please tell me I can do this without losing anything on my iPod classic.

syncing itunes to ipod classic _mojave os I believe there is a way to sync itunes to a classic ipod, but I am unable to do so. I have connected my ipod with a cable to my mac and the device appears in itunes. The only place I can find the syncing option is in: Itunes>file>devices>sync. But sync is greyed out. the only option to select is "Transfer purchases from my ipod" In Itunes>preferences>General> I have unchecked ICloud music library and in Itunes>preferences>Restrictions> Disable> I have checked Apple Music . I also manually dragged songs onto my ipod using finder, but while on the Mac screen I can see the songs are there, they are not on my ipod. Please let me know what I am missing so that I can sync my ipod classic. Thanks!
