iPad Pro 10.5" Bright Spot on Screen

My iPad Pro 10.5” screen has a “brighter” spot about 4 cm (2 in) top of the Home Button (Touch ID). This spot is about 2 cm (1 in) diameter.

Looking at the Demo iPad Pros 10.5” in the Apple Store, I realized that the Space Gray model they had in exhibition had the “brighter spot” in the screen as well.

The assistant at the Apple Store Mexico City ran a Diagnose of my iPad and the final report was telling that there was a spot in exactly that part or area of the screen (red rectangle).

I've seen that there are plenty of other people having the same issue, however there is no "official recall program from Apple" regarding this problem, Apple is charging me USD 500 to replace the iPad for a new one when my usage and cares for the product have been perfect, no drops or falls, no cracked screen, no water, my iPad is FLAWLESS with the exception of that BRIGHT SPOT.

I don't know if this is a Production problem or a Design Problem. I've seen some comments of people saying the spot "magically appears" from time to time, even though that Apple has changed and replaced for a new one without the spot in that moment.

I am still waiting for a new response since this problem has been scaled internally on Apple.

Looking forward to a fast response from Apple.

We’re all end-users here. Whilst Apple might read our contributions, they won’t respond or comment within these community forums!

You’ve clearly seen that you’re not alone - many discussions can be found here, from other users, who also see a brighter patch centrally on the screen about an inch above the Home Button. This bright patch is most evident on a bright-white background, such as these community pages. Once you see it, it’s very difficult to “not” see it - if you know what I mean?

As you say, whilst many users are complaining if this issue, Apple do not appear to have acknowledged this issue to be a fault.

Slight area-variations in screen brightness are generally a characteristic of backlit displays, however, it might be expected that premium products, such as the flagship iPad Pro models, would have display panels at the better-end of the quality scale. As to what is (or isn’t) considered to be acceptable is likely to be very subjective.

Apple buy-in display panels from various suppliers, such as Samsung, so it may be that one manufacturer display panel is more susceptable to this issue than others; it’s the luck-of-the-draw as to which suppliers components are present in your iPad.

Sorry, this is isn’t much help in finding you a solution - but rest asured, many of us would like to see consistent quality and fault-fee hardware/software in our expensive Apple devices...
