Brother printer problems with mojave

After the latest MacOS Mojave update (10.14.2), my Brother printer MFC-J6520DW does not communicate with my iMac. I updated the Brother software to latest version for MacOS, but still no result. When I try to print any document get the message the computer cannot find the printer. The Wi-Fi connection with the printer has always worked before.

I actually found out the problem. For some reason after the last update my iMac had connected with the Wi-Fi network of the router supplied by my cable provider instead of my internal Wi-Fi on my iMac. Switching back to the Wi-Fi on my iMac solved it.

However I am at a loss to understand how it happened since in the network window the iMac is always supposed to choose the internal Wi-Fi system as default.
