Keyboard typing keeps creating a double ii

Hello,

While typing, each time I click the i, I get two ii's.

I constantly have to correct it.

Is there a solution to fixing the double ii ?

In order to isolate hardware, open apple logo > system preferences > keyboard > tick show keyboard and emoji viewers in the menu bar.

On the upper right corner, you will see a calendar like app with the command symbol on it, click it and show keyboard viewer.

Now, use the onscreen keyboard in typing.

Go to Apple logo, system Preferences, keyboard, click shortcuts, see if there is a shortcut in there involving your ii situation. If there is, select it and press the “- button” (minus button).

If that doesn’t work, don’t bother replying to me because I have no idea what else it could be.

It looks like it is also the r y and i keys - not just the i.

I do not have any text or keyboard shortcuts that could be an issue.

I will keep testing. Perhaps an APP is causing it, which through the process of elimination could resolve.

I contacted Apple support and they had me reset the NVRAM and the SMC. However, neither option seemed to work. I am still experiencing the double characters from keys located between Q and P.
