Often, I need to re-read a notification to get some numbers, names, specifics. But once I've read it and gone to another screen, the notification is gone. Is there any way to retrieve?
I think I've seen this message or something similar many many times but I'm yet to see a simple yes/no answer.
Is there such a thing as yes or no to this question?

Notifications cannot be retrieved once read or cleared. However, depending on the notification the app came from, you should be able to open the app to determine the content of the notification. For example, if you received a text notification and clear it, you can open the Messages app to see the content of that notification.
