Speak auto text is turned off but phone is still talking

I’ve turned speak auto text off, I’ve turned everything off yet my phone still speaks every letter I type. I’ve reset my phone, it stops talking a couple times and starts right back up speaking. How do I make it stop I have turned the keyboard stuff off as well nothing works.

Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Typing Feedback and make sure you've turned everything off there.

Hello kester256,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand your iPhone is speaking when you type.

You mentioned you've checked out some of the Speak settings. From your description, it sounds like VoiceOver may be the setting you'll want to double-check. You'll find it by tapping Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver. If you see it on there, switch it off to see if it helps: Adjust voices for VoiceOver, Speak Screen, and Speak Selection on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If the issue persists, there might be a few other points to consider. You mentioned that you reset your phone; do you mean that you restarted it, or did you restore it using iTunes? What was the process you followed there?

Also, you mentioned it stops and then starts again; have you noticed if it starts speaking again when you use a certain app? Does it speak anything else, or just the letters that you type?

I hope this helps get you started.

Take care.
