Ipad typing everything I say while typing a text, without touching mic button good night love you can I kiss you

My iPad is typing everything I say while I am typing a text. I tried turning off dictation, this turns off auto typing while texting with a symbol in the text box that I can use if I want to use dictation in messages, but then I have no mic and no similar box to use for mic in safari for typing. I like to use dictation just not turned on all the time. It is only on all the time in texting mode. This is new since last update.
