I have read feeds concerning this matter posted in September 2018 but when I look for AUPeakLimiter under the plug-in that option is not available.

Under preferences - audio/MIDI, is enable audio units checked?
Maybe this will help, or is this already enabled?
I don't have the option "Audio Units" Is there something I have to install?
there is nothing to install, but they are optional and you do need to make sure they are enabled:
