Erase Data option Greyed out - iPhoneXs - iOS12

Dear All,

On weekend I faced an issue where my 256GB iPhoneXs had erased after 5 accidental passcode attempts. After restoring my iPhone from iCloud (which took hours) , I tried to disable the Erase data option, but it wont allow me to disable it.

After researching, I found that I had an Exchange account linked in my iPhone Mail app, once I deleted this, the Erase data option was not grey any more and I was able to disable it . I am not sure if this is a bug in the mail app or the Erase data settings, but I will be keeping the Erase data option disabled from now on .
