iPad Factory reset

It seems there has been a change to the iPad factory reset. I am trying to reset my device and selected the “erase all contact and settings” option. It used to just do it, but now I am presented with a caution message to the effect: if you erase now, data from MarleeSigns and 65 other apps will be permanently deleted. You can turn on backup for these apps in the Manage Storage section of iCloud settings.

The issue here is that there is no option that I can find in iCloud settings to do this. Furthermore, there is no option available for me to determine what the other 65 apps in question are.

After speaking with Apple support, I was told that this is a new privacy/security option, and that the developers of these other apps probably has not updated them to have their data saved in the iCloud. And I fully understand that. My concern is that there is no way for me to identify if there is any critical or important data in these apps if I don’t even know the names of the apps in question!

Go to Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Manage Storage>Backups>Your Device Name>Choose data to backup. Let the entire list of apps load. You can tap on Show all apps. After everything loads, if any of the apps are not turned on to backup with iCloud, flip the switch on them to include their data in the backup.

No worries.

Go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage.

Theres a list of all your apps and how much information each has backed-up in iCloud.

Some apps listed there will tell you what is being saved on iCloud. Others will just say the total space used.

If there are apps that you don't need, you can delete them right there while you are at it.
