Deleting Help Please!!!

Hello, I received the MacBook Air today, and I am struggling to delete photos on the Photos app. The pictures from my iPhone automatically transferred over here, but some of these pictures are junk that I deleted off my phone a while ago. I want to delete these pictures off my MacBook for storage purposes, but there is no option to delete them! They are not from My Photo Stream, by the way. Any help would be highly appreciated.

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Is iCloud Photos enabled on the iPhone and the Mac? Then the Photos Libraries on the iPhone and the Mac will be in sync and always show the same photos.

To delete photos in the Photos for Mac application select them in the Photos view or an album and use the key combination ⌘⌫ (command-delete). That will move the photos to the Recently Deleted album. Alternately ctrl-click or right-click the photos and use the command "Delete .. photos" from the contextual menu, that will pop up.
