Christmas gifts and warranties

Hello I just got some AirPods as a Christmas gift and I just checked through the apple warranty coverage checker and it says they are covered until December 2019. Let’s say if something happens to them during that time and I have to take them into the apple store, will I need the original receipt? Since it’s a gift I don’t feel very comfortable with asking my aunt to give me the receipt.

Hello gamal256,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you want to know more about if you need help with your AirPods you received as a gift. 'To obtain warranty service, contact Apple using the information described at www.apple.com/support/country. Proof of purchase may be required to verify eligibility.' Here is more about the warranty on your AirPods:

Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty – Accessory - For Apple and Beats Branded Products Only.

Cheers!

Jot down the serial number (create a separate contact card in Contacts for them) then you have it for the future. Since you found it in the warranty coverage checker your should be fine in the future. I have found over the years that Apple is very easy to work with as long as you have the basic information for them to help you with.
