How do I find out administrators name?

How do I find out administrators name? I am the administrator.

Everything was going along great until I decided to change my username. I did this in Preferences > Users and Groups.

I did receive a warning about making this change that it might cause problems, (how else would you change your username?). When I try the name I changed it to it does not work, neither does the old name. I am the only user of this computer so I guess I am the system administrator. I did not change any passwords.

I'm further confused by the fact that Users and Groups appears to show the username. This is the same name the mac shows on start-up. I can login at start-up with no problem.

Please help!

If you're not sure what was done here and/or are not sure how to reverse it, then we're a step or two removed from that and from what happened. While it's usually possible to delete the .AppleSetupDone file and get a new user created without reinstalling, I've had that hack-around leave lingering issues from the previous login. And it can be possible to revert the sequence with rummaging around to see what happened, or what didn't happen; where things went sideways. In general, wiping and reloading is going to provide the best results, and that's less effort to process than would be a back-and-forth debugging session through a series of forum postings.
