Ive heard in the past that you shouldn't ever charge your phone via your car charger because the car charger over time will ruin the battery. I just got a car with CarPlay and am wondering if this still holds true, and using carplay will cause the battery to go bad?

I've been using a car charger for close to five years with zero problems. USB is an industry-standard (just don't get the 29-cent version charger). HOWEVER, the cable is Apple-proprietry. Use only Apple or Apple-approved cables.
