I got the iPhone XR on Christmas and today I woke up with the screen completely frozen and the Face ID won’t recognize my face. I’ve tried force restarting it but it still won’t do anything.

For XR models, the forced restart must be performed as follows:
Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo. When it appears, release the Side button, wait for your device to restart, then test it.
If the forced restart didn't produce any effect, since your iPhone is brand new, have it inspected at your most convenient Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider: https://locate.apple.com/findlocations
