How do I access a delegated gmail account from my boss on my iPad?

My boss delegated his email account to me which I can access easily without the password, etc., on my computer. I want to access it on my iPad when I’m away. How?

Lyssa, thank you for this clarification.

For your (and doncow's) benefit, you can actually perform the "request desktop site" action from the built-in Safari browser as well. You shouldn't necessarily need to download Chrome.

To do this from Safari:

  • Navigate to mail.google.com
  • Tap on this symbol:
  • Choose "Request Desktop Site". This may involve scrolling through the available choices.
  • Proceed as Lyssa explained above.

I believe your question boils down to something like this:

"How do I access a gmail account on my iPad?"

You have two choices.

  1. Set up access to this account using Apple's mail application which is supplied on your iPad along with iOS. Follow "Set up your email account automatically" and add the account as a Google account as described here. Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
  2. Use Google's gmail application on your iPad. "Purchase" (at no cost) this app through the App Store on the iPad, and set it up.

I suggest using the first choice.

You cannot do that using the Gmail or Mail apps.

What should work is this:

1) Download Chrome

2) Navigate to mail.google.com and log in with your email/password

3) Once the page loads, tap on the 3 dots and choose Request Desktop Site

4) Once the page loads, you can tap on your name/profile icon in the upper right corner to get to the delegated account.

No, that is not the question. I have 8 different gmail accounts set up on my computer. But I cannot access my bosses delegated account on my iPad because I don’t have his password. However, it works on my computer. I don’t understand how to make it work on the iPad. It shows up in my drop down account list when I sign in to my business gmail on my computer. It does not show up on the iPad. I need to be able to access it from my iPad. There is no drop down that allows me to access his account on my iPad. Thanks for trying, though.

How do I access a delegated gmail account from my boss on my iPad?
