Time capsule back up for iPhone

The iPhone (and other iOS devices) back up to iTunes on your computer.....or.....to iCloud. Not possible to back up an iPhone or iOS device directly to a Time Capsule.

IF.....you back up the iPhone to iTunes on your Mac......AND......you are using Time Machine to back up the Mac to the Time Capsule.......then the iPhone backups stored in iTunes on the Mac will be backed up to the Time Capsule.

So, you could say that the iPhone (and other iOS devices) can back up indirectly to a Time Capsule.

You can install an app like "FileBrowser" on your iphone that will allow you to copy files to the TC disk.

For many people that is what they really want .. ie backup your photos for example.

It does not equal a proper backup in the sense of recovery of your phone with all its messages and contacts etc. So you still need to use the iCloud/iTunes method for that.
