Apple Watch SIMM card?

Hello, purchased the Apple Watch Series 4 from T-Mobile as a Christmas gift and they gave me a SIMM card to install in the watch, there is a slot cover on the side of the watch. Do I need to install the SIMM card? If so how do you get the door open, I have tried repeatedly with one of the little tools they have and cannot get it to open. Any help would be appreciated.

The Apple Watch does not have a sim slot. The slot you see on the side where the band slides into, is a diagnostic port. There is no where for a physical sim to go.

The Apple watch has a virtual eSim that T-Mobile would have needed to activate on your iPhone's cell plan if the watch is a cellular model. If its a GPS only model, then no cell service is possible and T-Mobile would not need to do anything.
