Does iTunes 12.x support older iPod NANO?
Seems like support may be dropped? How do I synch my old nano that is still working just fine and add music, etc?

However, it sometimes takes iTunes a couple of minutes before it recognises that an iPod is connected to it.
Is the iPod working correctly? If so, connect it to your computer and wait for at least three minutes. Does iTunes see it after that time?
