Using the flash createsa white haze in the corner of pics

Not every time, but am seeing some pics I take with the flash result in pics that have a whitish haze in the corner of the pic where the flash lit. Is this from the flash being too close to the lens? I noticed this mostly when shooting pics with the camera in landscape mode and the lens positioned in the bottom right, which I do to prevent me getting my fingers in the lens. I have taken pics in the normal upright position which haven't had the haze effect in pics. I do have a Belkin clear soft case on the iPhone that has a cut out for the lens and flash that comes very close to the flash, and thought that might be causing some reflection in the lens, but was curious if others are having the flash effect in pics.

greetings all iPhone4 users. do u get the impression that apple should have called this model the "lemon".
i'm experiencing the same drop call issues and now discovering that when i use the flash for pics, i get nothing but haze.
i called apple on this and they told me to 'restore' the phone. i did it, and no improvement.
i'm going to call them again and let them walk me thru the whole process, if still doesnt resolve the issue, i'm returning this lemon
