Adware pop ups

So far today I’ve had two adware pop ups claiming that I’ve won something from AT&T.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these? I clicked cancel on the first pop up but it just created a second one and music started playing.

They hijack my browser and I can’t do anything until I completely close Safari.

I did some google searching and it said to just wipe my browser history and cookies and that would take care of the problem but the pop ups came back.

Any advice is appreciated.

It's been the latest round of scam ads that redirect the user. A couple months ago, the same type of junk would say everyone had won something from Amazon.

In short, they're just highly annoying ads. Install an ad blocker and you'll never see them again.

On my iPhone and iPad, I use AdGuard. The iOS version is still free. Or, at least it was. Haven't looked to see if that's still true.

On my Mac, I use the free Ka-Block.

Cancel typically doesn't do anything different. You get redirecterd either way. But no, tapping on an ad cannot in any way give anyone access to your phone or its data.
