There are a few things that a Mac could get, often they are not 'virus' and exhibit symptoms

such as 'popup warnings' or other messages; some try to get their unsuspecting owners to

download or get questionable products from unknown or untested web sites. Don't do it!

How to block pop-ups in Safari - Apple Support

You could get and safely use a few products that run free (in trial period, etc) to help remove

adware and other bits that may be afflicting your Mac. I've both of these & they help:

About Malwarebytes 'antivirus replacement for mac'

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

•Malwarebytes for Mac

(download link-mac version)

•Etrecheck ~ etresoft info features etc

https://etrecheck.com/features

There are no virus for Mac that can affect the macOS; and protection is built-in.

However there are adware and malware that can afflict a user's Mac. There also are

'browser re-direct' afflictions and some other miscellaneous issues you could get.

{..Most of these could be avoided by selective choice in where you go online..}
