Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.
If it were me, I would cancel for a different reason. Check this out.
Not shown on the picture is a clothing clip. Both buds can fall out of your ears and, because of the clothing clip, nothing is lost. Don't have any clue about BT version but they work beautifully with my iPhone-7.
