Connecting Canon Eos Rebel T3 to iPad

I just got a new iPad and am heading to Europe this summer. I’m wondering if there is any way to connect my Canon T3 to my iPad to download pics so I don’t have to take my laptop. The T3 is not wireless or Bluetooth and the download cable is a usb connection.

Hi, Kyleen!

Thanks for dropping by the Apple Support Communities. I see from your post that you'll be traveling Europe this summer, and would like to be able to transfer pictures from your digital camera to your iPad, without the use of a computer. I'm happy to help!

You've got a couple of options to import pictures from your camera to your iPad, both of which require a different adapter to complete. If you'd like to use the camera's USB cable, you can do so using a Lightning to USB Camera adapter: Lightning to USB Camera Adapter - Apple. Alternatively, if your camera uses an SD card, you can use a Lightning to SD Card Reader adapter: Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader — Apple - Apple.

Once you've chosen your preferred method and have the appropriate adapter, you can use the steps in Import photos using Apple camera adapters - Apple Support.

Safe travels!
