Special Effects in IMessaging
I have the SX Max iPhone and special effects does not work when I text. What do I need to do to get it to work?

Special effects on work with iMessage, so if you are attempting an SMS, it won't work. It also will not work with a mixed group. I would try force closing Messages and try again. The next step would be to create a current backup of your phone and then restore to the backup. Test.
