GarageBand and Jam Packs

Hi

So thanks to some helpful advice here that I read, I bought Main Stage 3 yesterday to get the extra loops and bits I could use in GarageBand.

I checked them this morning and everything was good in the legacy section. However, GarageBand has prompted me to update shortly afterwards and now I seem to have lost quite a bit of stuff that I got yesterday and was working this morning. Is there anyway to get them all back - I must have had the new (well to me!) stuff for about 20 minutes.

I am seeing 24700 loops.

Check, if your loops are filtered.

The top of the Loop Browser should be showing "Loop Packs: All Genres".

And the GarageBand > Preferences > Loops should look like this - "Keyword Browsing" should be disabled.

Do you have software instrument track selected (midi track), when you are looking at the Legacy section?

I am still seeing all my JamPacks in the Legacy section, as long as a software instrument track is selected. There are not many real instrument patches in "Legacy".

After a GarageBand update you may need to download the sound library again - check the menu "GarageBand > Sound library" and click "download all available sounds".

Once GarageBand has downloaded all available sound, launch MainStage 3, then check the Sound Library in MainStage as well. Go to "MainStage 3 > Sound Library > Open Sound Library Manager". The manger will show you, which MainStage 3 sounds are incomplete. Download the incomplete or updated sounds.
