Green dots/lens issue iPhone XR

Seem to be experiencing issues when taking photos with light in the background or directly at light and have green dots appearing, can anyone advise further? Is this a fault with the camera?

IPhone 12 Pro Max Camera issues? I just recently purchased the IPhone 12 Pro Max and was really excited to get home and start taking pictures. Yet found myself disappointed when I found that the camera or software seemed to have some issues. In low light situations there are green lines that go horizontally across the image. In bright situations there are green dots created on the image.

Apparently this normal. I know sounds daft. It’s called lens flare. Ta
