iMac isn't accepted to trade in?

I got a nice email from apple to trade in apple product, follow the online trade in (desktop computers up to $1180 ), smile and then bang - my late 2015 iMac is not accepted to trade in. No more smile...

Seriously, is my iMac not worth a cent? Who is that silly child in Brightstar who decide which product can trade in?

Is there any retailer out there who trade in iMacs? I need iMac pro. Apple giveback only $560.

Simply Mac is one Authorized Reseller that does trades (and I suspect many other do as well), but the trade value may still be in the $560 neighborhood that Apple is offering. See: https://store.simplymac.com/pages/trade

Just like any other product, trade-in value will be a fraction of what

the "market value" would be, especially computers. If the company

taking the trade-in resells used computers, they need to add cost of

any testing and refurbishing for resale plus some amount of profit.

In addition, the company also bases trade in values on how marketable the

older computer is. Once some thing reaches a certain age, its only value is

for the salvaging of components to be used in repairs.
