Hello! Im learning Python and need to use single quotes, straight single quotes.
I have tried setting the right quotes in smart qoutes, this does not work.
I have tried turing off smart quotes, this does not worth either.
Any tips on how to get regular single quotes , not there ´´``.
Smart qoutes for duble quotes works fine,.
Im on a mackbook pro 15 touchbar with mojave

If I may suggest, for programming in Python it is best to use a Python IDE.
A small and simple one is Wing101, but I prefer to install Anaconda, which includes Jupyter Notebook (runs in the browser with a notebook paradigm similar to Mathematica), and Spyder - a more classic IDE with a text file editor and a console to execute files or run commands directly at the interpreter prompt.
Any of the above will have many advantages, starting with syntax coloring, automatic indentation, debugging and more.

I am not familiar with pycharm.
There may be a setting in its preferences for it.
For example, I just noticed that there is a setting in BBEdit for "typographer quotes", not in Preferences but under "Text Options" in the Edit menu. Maybe it is in there somewhere as well.
