i am trying to remote control my Keynote presentation that I am running on my iPad and control it using my iPhone.
i have seen numerous support articles from Apple saying this should work which it does in WIFi but for some reason it doesn’t work on just Bluetooth alone.
i was wondering had anyone been able to get the iPhone keynote remote to work using Bluetooth to control a keynote presentation on a iPad?
This worked on an iPhone 5S and MacBook Pro running Mojave, so an iPad should be similar:
Place your phone in Airplane Mode, and verify WIFI is off.
Turn off WIFI on your iPad
Verify in Settings that Bluetooth is on for both devices, and tap your iPhone and iPad names in the Bluetooth lists to connect them
Open Keynote on your device
Open Keynote on your phone
Tap the Keynote Remote icon in the upper right on your phone, and the remote should work
Using Airplane Mode to turn off WiFI seems to be the missing step.

What I would like to see is
1) If there is a Bluetooth pointer that would work with the iPad to control Keynote
or
Apple steps up their game and figures out a way for Keynote remote on an iPhone to pair over Bluetooth to an iPad so that the iPhone can control a Keynote presentation.
Does anyone else want to see this ability?
For me personally this would help me out when traveling and doing presentations I wouldn't have to bring my laptop everywhere I go. I can just bring me iPad and iPhone.
I purchased a new blue tooth Logitech presentation Remote and now it works fine.
