MacBook Air mid 2012 not charging

I have a Mac Book Air mid 2012 model with charging issues. I have purchased a new Apple MagLight charger, checked the power jack for debris, and reset the SMC and still don't have a green or yellow light although the lightning charge indicator does show in the tool bar, just not getting a change. Running Apple's Hardware test doesn't show a power problem.
