Can ITunes gift cards be put towards the Marvel app?

I recently got some ITunes gift cards belatedly from out of town family for the holidays. The problem is I don’t have any music or apps I need-want to purchase. I do use the Marvel comics app (not Comixology) to buy issues on Wednesday and was wondering if someone can tell me if and or how the money from the gift cards can be put towards buying comics on the app.
