Safari not opening google.com or google search

Mojave 10.14.2 Safari started not opening google.com. No error messages or anything. Just blank screen, loading bar starts but just freezes. All other browsers on my Mac (chrome, firefox, opera..) work just fine. I also cannot google search anything by typing. No other website seems to have a problem through Safari.

Any ideas?

Recently Safari started freezing during page loads, somewhat randomly. It will work fine and then it quits. The blue line appears near the top of the window and then stalls. I've cleared all history and have no extensions. Firefox works, so it's not the internet connection. In addition the Apple Mail program fails to connect intermittently, MS Word for Mac is taking longer to respond to commands, and the screen is not keeping up with my typing occasionally, even on this website.

safari will not open web pages Safari 16.1 on MBP 12.6.1 Monterey Safari will not open pages, especially those at top of a search. Multiple pages freeze or load only partial content. Safari itself is glitchy, has random slow-downs and short-terms freezes which do not seem to be related to computer activity. This has been an issue for several versions of Safari, including the latest. I tried the multiple suggestions from Apple support (like reload, purge history, etc) none of which do anything. Anyone has a solution or explanation? Other browser like Edge and Brave work fine...

safari does not work at all When I open Safari I can not click on or type anything. It just beeps when I try to press on things - I can not open the preferences at all - almost none of the menu items are possible to click on, any idea how to fix this? Macbook pro 2013 with most recent OS. Thanks!

Try going to Safari/Preferences/Privacy/Manage Website Data and delete all Google cookies. Quit/reopen Safari and test.
