When I connect my Ipad Mini 4 to my Macbook pro I get two options in iTunes, either set up as new or restore from a backup I took in October.
*I don't want either*, I want to make another backup. Any idea where I am going wrong? I don't have this trouble with my iphone.

Don't worry. Some time since October the device name was changed. I changed it again to something new and it backed up
