MacBook Air gets really hot and loud on Twitch.

I got the new MacBook Air (i5 base model) yesterday and I've noticed today when watching streams on Twitch it gets quite hot and the fan quite loud. Is this safe/normal? Is it damaging the device? Is there anyway to avoid this happening? I am using Safari. Thanks in advance.
