MacBook Air MagSafe Power Port Burnt? I think
I have had my MacBook Air for about 1.5 years, and lately, I have noticed my MagSafe power adapter into the port becoming very hot, like unbearably hot to the touch. I didn't think much about it, but I did give the power port a good clean with rubbing alcohol and q-tips (cotton buds). I made sure to properly clean it and dry it before I charged my MacBook Air again. Everything seem to be running along smoothly, aside from the fact that the MagSafe power adapter into the port continued to get extremely hot, but yesterday, I noticed that the port and my MagSafe adapter looked almost burnt. Also, part of my charging cable near the MagSafe adapter has turned yellow(ish). Am I right to think that my port and MagSafe power adapter are burnt? What's with the yellow tinge on the cable? Should I take it to an apple store or to someone to look at? Thanks!!
Also, I did try to clean off the "burnt" stuff on the MagSafe adapter and port, but it won't budge, so I definitely do not think that it is a build up of dirt or grime.
