Lost Iphone

My iPhone 7 plus got stolen and I quickly kept it in lost mode. After a few days a message came to my phone from Apple Inc. which said that my phone got connected and gave a link to find the phone. When I clicked the link it could not load properly so I quickly signed in my iCloud account from my pc and opened the find my phone app. But after a mean while it said no device connected and if I click the link which I was sent it did not opened. Why did this just happened. I am very upset please help me on this regard. If you guys know the official iPhone email address please tell me that.

The message you got with the link in it was a phishing message from the thief who had your phone. When you attempted to sign in using the link you gave the thief your iCloud credentials, allowing them to remove the activation lock.

If you have not already changed your password, you need to do so immediately. Then turn on 2 factor authentication.
