Charging/aux port in iPhone 7 has stopped playing music through Apple earbuds and car stereos

I’ve had my iPhone 7 for just over 2 years now and have never had any issues until suddenly I can no longer play music through car stereos and apple earbuds. The phone still charges, sends data via the charging cord, and plays on some select stereos via aux lightening adapter. Seems to me this might be a software issues of sorts. Any advice would be gladaly accepted. Thanks!
