Shift focus to Desktop keyboard shortcut

There used to be a keyboard shortcut to move focus straight to the desktop. It was Shift+Command+Up Arrow, and it was awesome. That doesn't seem to work in Mojave on my new Macbook (Now using 2018, old one was a late 2012).

I tried to find Applescripts and Automtor workarounds, but no dice.

The way the function worked is that it would keep all windows open, and in place, but you could see that the focus jumped to the most upper-right file on the desktop, now highlighted. This was particularly useful when you have screenshots set to save straight to the desktop. Take a screenshot, hit Shift+Command+Up, land on the desktop with the screenshot file automatically selected, since that was the most recent file. Then you can immediately rename it, or move it to a new place in finder, without ever having to cycle through a bunch of Finder windows to finally get to the the desktop.

If you can think of any workarounds, please help!! =D
