I can't import raw images to my ipad using the lightning to sd card camera reader

I want to import raw files from the camera card into Photos (to ultimately put them in my mobile Lightroom.)

The photo starts to import, gets one-fourth done and then just stops

Hello ASweetandSavoryLife,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand from reading your pos that you are trying to import RAW images from a camera card into Photos but the process stops one-fourth of the way in. I am happy to help you with this.

First, let's check and make sure that your camera is one that is supported for RAW images.

Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra

Here is an article that tells about how RAW images are handled.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

I think perhaps I wasn't clear. My issue is with transferring raw images via my LIGHTENING TO SD CARD CAMERA READING from my camera card to my iPad (into Photos). I am hoping to be able to do this while traveling so that I do not have to bring my laptop with me. (Once on my ipad, I can move them over to my Lightroom cloud.)

I have managed to download some, but it is very slow, and seems as though not all the photos get transferred. Has anyone had experience with this?
