iMac not updating to High Sierra

Hi,

I recently attempted to upgrade my iMac (late 2009, 21.5 inch) to High Sierra. The install failed, so i put it down to being an ageing hard drive. I have replaced the hard drive, installed El Capitan with no issues, however it continues to fail the install of High Sierra. Interestingly enough, on the most recent attempt, it seemed to install just fine, but when I came to start the iMac this morning, I was just faced with install errors.

I've checked, and my model is on the supported list, so there shouldn't be any issues there.

I've included the installer log.

Thanks in advance for any help!

David

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I upgraded through the app store. However, today I held the option key, and was able to boot into High Sierra (on the internal drive). For some reason, the startup disk has been automatically set to the installer? Even though it has installed already! Anyway, I’ve just set the startup disk back to the internal drive and it’s working just fine, so I can use it normally now. Seems like a strange issue but I’m glad it’s fine now.

Thanks again for your reply

Mike
