iPhone XR front facing camera is blurry and pixelated

Hello! I recently switched from the Samsung Galaxy S6 to the iPhone XR hoping that the quality of pictures and selfies would be a lot better than the Samsung Galaxy S6. Turns out, that is not the case. The selfies taken on my iPhone XR are extremely pixelated and very low quality. The one with the red shirt was taken with the XR, while the one with the black shirt was taken with the S6. Please tell me why the quality is so horrible. iPhones are supposed to have extremely good cameras.
