The balance on your account is up-to-date (you've logged out and back in), and you have completed the renting of a film ? If you have rented a film and it charged the card on the account contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com or http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww

Sounds like you are only being asked to confirm your id and that it's your account, not that the card will be charged for the rental - and you won't see an option to say how items are paid for, it's automatic.

Try going through with the rental, and if the card is charged (except for : About payment card authorization holds from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support) contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com or http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww

It just asks me to confirm the 3 numbers on the back of the credit card connected to the account and doesn’t give me an option to change to payment method to the gift card. If it’s any help i’m trying to buy it on a kids apple id which has the gift card connected to it but when i press rent it makes me confirm the card details for my parents account
